Company Wallet

The Company Wallet is where you manage how your organization funds activity across Millie—including matches, gifts, grants, payroll giving, and dollars for doers. You can set payment preferences, preload funds, and customize how each product draws from your wallet.

🔗 Add a Payment Method

You can add multiple payment methods to your account—either credit cards or bank accounts—all processed securely through Stripe.

  • To link a bank account, we use Plaid.
  • 🛠️ Note: Plaid doesn’t support all bank account types. If yours doesn’t appear, reach out to our team—we can help get you set up using Stripe micro-deposits instead.

⚙️ Customize Payment Sources by Program

Once payment methods are added, you can choose how each program draws funds. For example:

  • Matches
  • Gift cards
  • Grants
  • Payroll giving
  • Dollars for doers

Each of these can be set to pull from a specific payment method or from your wallet balance.

🧾 Monthly Match Charges

Your company is charged on the 1st of each month for matches that were approved during the prior month.

These charges will pull from the payment method you've designated under the Matches section of your wallet settings.

💰 Preloading Funds

Want to manage spend upfront? You can preload funds into your wallet at any time.

Each product on Millie gives you the option to:

  • ✅ Use wallet balance first
  • 💳 Charge the designated payment method directly

This gives you control over how and when company funds are used across your programs.

📉 Can the donation cap be prorated based on employment tenure or past giving?

Not at this time. Annual caps are applied per calendar or fiscal year and aren’t currently prorated for new hires, terminations, or unused balances.

⏳ We understand this limitation and are actively evaluating solutions to offer more flexible cap management in future releases.

🔒 What control do we have over individual donations?

Individual donations are made by employees and processed independently. Employers cannot edit or revoke donations once made—even if an employee leaves the company.

✅ However, companies do control all matching activity:

  • 🧾 Adjust cap amounts
  • ⛔ Turn off auto-approval
  • 🎁 Use gift cards to provide pre-set giving options

This structure protects donor intent while giving your team the levers to guide budget and program rules.
