How do donations flow through Millie?
When making a donation on Millie, the donation goes directly to our donor-advised fund partners (minus the credit card fees): For US donations, Percent Impact Foundation (EIN: 87-3165286). For international donations, Intelligent Foundation (UK registered charity no. 1192508). Utilizing a donor-advised fund ensures the donation is always considered a donation, allows tax-deductible eligibility, and gives the donor the opportunity to create a mini donor-advised fund, doing all their giving in one place

US based donation example:
- Employee donates $100 using US card to a global nonprofit in a foreign currency and requests a company match.
- $96.30 is sent to the nonprofit from the employee (Percent US card fee 1.3% + Third party processing fee 2.2% +30 cents)
- $97.70 is sent to the nonprofit through the company’s ACH match (Percent ACH fee 1.5% + Third party processing fee .8%)
- Total sent to International nonprofit: $194.00
International based donation example:
- Employee donates $100 using non-US card to a global nonprofit in a foreign currency and requests a company match.
- $94.80 is sent to the nonprofit from the employee (Percent Non-US card fee 1.7% + Third party processing fee 3.2% +30 cents)
- $97.70 is sent to the nonprofit through the company’s ACH match (Percent ACH fee 1.5% + Third party processing fee .8%)
- Total sent to International nonprofit: $192.50 How are payments delivered to nonprofits? Our donor-advised fund partners make donation payments out to nonprofits at the end of each month, provided they have amassed more than $50 in donation balance (their total raised across Millie and from Percent’s other partners). That said, if the balance has not reached $50 within 365 days, Percent will also process the payment at that time. Donors are also able to get in touch with Percent’s support team in order to expedite donations. If the nonprofit is onboarded to Percent’s platform, Percent will deliver funds to them via electronic payment, typically within 15-45 days of them reaching $50 in donations. If the nonprofit is not onboarded to Percent’s platform, Percent will make efforts to onboard them, typically for 60 days. If they have not onboarded after this time, Percent will then attempt to pay them via check. Where this is not possible (for some countries, or where the check can’t be delivered), we will reassign funds to a nonprofit with a similar mission and geography For more information, see Percent’s Donation Delivery Policy and Undeliverable Donation Policy. What happens if my donation is for an urgent appeal? If your donation is for an urgent appeal, where time is of the essence, Percent will aim to deliver funds on an expedited schedule, via check or electronic payment . Are there any fees? Aside from the credit card fees, the only other charge is from Percent, who have a small processing fee of 1.3% - 1.7% (depending on if it’s card or ACH), that helps support their work for donations on Millie.
