Gave a little extra love during the holiday rush but didn't submit it before the ball dropped? 🪩 Don't worry, your match may not be lost! Many companies offer a grace period: a window after year-end when you can still submit last year's offline donations for a corporate match.
Pro tip: Check your company's matching policy or ask your program admin for your grace period deadline.
🗓️ How it works:
- Your match budget in Millie automatically resets every year on the start of your company’s defined fiscal year (usually, but not always, January 1st).
- An offline donation match typically counts toward the year of your donation submission date, not the day you made the donation
- If your company has a grace period turned on, however, you can submit an offline donation from last year for a set number of days into the new year. It's matched from your prior-year match balance. 💜
- Once the grace period ends, last year's donations can no longer be submitted for a match against the prior year’s budget (though may still be accepted for this year!)
🧾 How to submit last year's donation
- Head to your Wallet.
- Click Submit Offline Donation.
- Pick the nonprofit, then enter the donation date exactly as it shows on your receipt (like December 28 of last year).
- Add the amount and currency, and upload your receipt.
- Hit Submit! Your admin team will review it just like any other offline donation. ✨
