Matching donations is one of the most powerful ways companies can amplify employee impact—and Millie makes the review and approval process simple and transparent for admins.
This page walks you through how to review, approve, or restrict employee donation match requests in your admin dashboard.
📍 Where to Review Matches
Go to the Donations tab in the left-hand admin navigation, then select the Donations sub-tab. This will bring you to your match management dashboard.
From here, you can view and manage all incoming match requests.
🗂 Tabs You’ll See
- All – Full view of all donation match activity
- Pending – Match requests awaiting approval or restriction
- Approved – Past donations that have been approved and matched
- Restricted – Donations that were denied for matching
- Offline Donations – Donations entered manually (typically by admins)
- Inquiries – Donations that require additional information or clarification
🔎 Filtering Options
Use filters at the top of the page to narrow your review by:
- Date Range
- Campaign
- Employee
- Nonprofit
You can also export your match activity via the CSV button in the top right corner.
✅ Approving or Restricting Matches
- In the Pending tab, locate the donation request you'd like to act on.
- Click into the donation row to view more details.
- Select either:
- Approve – Donation will be matched according to the company’s rules and budget.
- Restrict – The donation will not be matched. You can optionally include a reason.
⚠️ Important: Matches are subject to:
- Nonprofit approval settings
- Budget rules (overall and per employee)
- Match rules (individual nonprofit > subcategory > category > general default)
🔁 Match Settings Reminder
Your match settings determine whether:
- Matches require manual review (show up under “Pending”), or
- Are auto-approved (skip the pending tab altogether)
You can adjust these settings in:
Donations > Match Settings
🔔 Notifications for Pending Matches
If your company’s match approval is set to manual review, any incoming donation that requires approval will generate a notification.
- All-Access Admins will receive an email notification for each match that enters the pending queue.
- If your company has Slack notifications configured, a Slack alert will be sent to your designated channel as well—keeping your team in the loop in real-time.
This ensures admins can act quickly and stay on top of employee engagement and giving activity.
