General Slack Features
Once integrated, Slack allows all employees to:
- See colleague giving activity in channels (campaign-based only; no donation amounts are shared)
- Access shortcuts to view giving and volunteer opportunities within Slack
- Receive reminders and updates about upcoming campaigns and volunteer events
- Sign up for volunteer events directly in Slack
- Join dedicated Slack channels for events to coordinate with teammates
- View giving profiles, wallet balances, and match status
- Receive notifications when a match is approved or if action is needed
Admin-Specific Features
Admins have additional tools available through Slack:
- Private Admin Channel: Route incoming match requests to a private Slack channel for internal visibility and discussion
- Event Reminders: Send custom reminders to channels for upcoming volunteer opportunities
- Campaign Boosts: Push updates and reminders for campaigns to relevant Slack channels
- Volunteer Channels: Create or link event-specific channels where real-time activity and coordination can take place
Important Notes
- Only donations tied to a campaign and made by employees with public profiles will be shown in Slack.
- Donation amounts are never shared—only the nonprofit name and campaign title are displayed.
- Employees can update their profile visibility at any time in their settings.
